Welcome to the online
portfolio of Kirk R.J. Roda.
I received my formal training at
Eastern Michigan University attaining there a bachelor's, as well
as a master's degree, in fine art. After my master's studies, I spent
several years teaching sculpture, drawing, and design at various universities
and colleges. During this time I also worked at a fine art foundry
where I learned all the diverse aspects of bronze casting. Currently,
I'm a sculptor at General Motors Design Center where I work in conjunction
with designers to develop future automobiles using hand modeling,
Tarus milling machines, and Wavefront's Alias AutoStudio modeling
software.
My work continues to develop around my love of form, figurative sculpture,
clay modeling, and the timeless works of sculptors like Michelangelo,
Manzu, and Rodin.
If you have any need of a sculptor for private or public commissions,
garden sculpture, liturgical sculpture, fine art sculptures, or portrait
sculpture, contact me with what you're looking for. I'd be honored
to help.
